The Misadventures of Seth and Drey: Part Two

I sighed. "Great, first Darcore seeing you, and now the past you interacting with the future you. This is going just great." I paused and thought about this, then a thought came into my mind. "So, if both of us interacted with our past selves, who's the real us?"

"Both of course. This is just a loop in time. In about 900 years, that boy will be doing the same thing I'm doing right now."

"That's just weird."

I shrugged, calmed down now. "That's just the way it works. Trust me, I know; dragons work with time a lot actually. Many times the elders take the DragonKnight tranees to the time of the Spartans on Earth to study on war training."

K: wait so when we meet out past selve's if we feel we should do somthing just do it becouse you were probably suposed to do it eneway... as long as it wont screw up what you can remember..... right?

"That's the theory," i said. "But we should still be careful of what we do or how we do it. I probably just got lucky this time, but at least I didn't try to stop myself from running. Now we don't have to worry about that; I won't be coming back after today."

I suddenly jerked in pain, and I looked at my right hand. The usually black Shapeshifter marking was pulsing white, making my hand hurt. I clenched my teeth in pain.

K: now whats wrong!?

I looked in alarm. "Seth?"

I gave Drey and Kain a smile. "It's alright, I'm fine. My magic's just overreacting to the key here, that's all."

"I wonder what that could mean," I said, and then noticed how late it was getting. Something should be happening right about...
"A fledgeling has left the barrier! Repeat, a fledgeling has left the barrier!"
"Right on cue," I murmured. "Come on, let's get moving before they notice we're not heading out that way."

"Alright. My senses tell me to go that way." I said, pointing in the same direction as last time.

K: right!

OOC: It would have been so funny if he ran into a wall right when he said that,

I nodded and followed Seth back to the castle. The front guardsmen were already gone; the king must have gotten wind that his son has run away.
"Come on," I said as I took the lead through the courtyard and into the building itself. "Alright, which way Seth?"

I turned to the right. "This way!"

We followed him through many halls and past rooms until finally we came to a stop at one. I knew exactly where we were.
"Here?" I asked, my voice cracking a little.

I looked at my surroundings. "What room is this?"

"Mine," I said, and led the way in to what was once my nursery. "This is the room where my mother and I stayed before she died." I walked over to a picture that was sitting on a desk and picked it up, suddenly lost in my own bitter-sweet memories.

*Kain looked at Drey and couldnt help but feel sadned since he'd seen that look on so many faces before*

K: "that look never change's" alright Seth were's the key?

I watched Drey zom into his memories, then looked around, trying to find the familiar glow of the key with my aura sight. Then, I spotted it. "That little stuffed dragon, there."

I bristled and looked at him in alarm. "You've gotta be kidding me! Please tell me you're kidding?"

I shook my head. "Nope, that's it." I looked over at him and smiled. "Don't worry, it won't be destroyed."

"That's not entirely what I'm worried about; my mother made that for me for the day I was born. I can't just..."

I blinked "Can't just what?"
