The Shadow Maker

"Who to do what?" I was getting lost, but when was I not?

I grunted as feeling started coming back to my limbs.
"Kira," i explained. "She's been to the spirit world, that time when she..." i took a breath. "When she died."

I stared at him. "You'll have to tell me that one later." I then looked to Darren. "Is there anyone else?"

"Yes, theres-"
I raised my hand. "Me."

I laughed. "Really? You never told me that."

I laughed. "Yeah. It's happened twice now."
Darren suddenly gave a start. "Drey, you never told me that!"
I just stared at him. "I never really thought it was important."
"Of course it is!"

I sighed. "Well, I'd like to take you, but I don't think that'll work."

I ignored Darren and looked to Seth. "Why not?"

"THe ancestors I'm going to see are Shapeshifters, and they don't take to Hybrids very well. Kira would be better to take."

I thought a moment, then said, "Take me. Let them meet me. I understand they don't take hybrids; this world is the same. I was born a dragon sin. But if they are as wise as you say, they'll understand."
"Drey, are you sure?" Darren asked warningly. He was concerned for my mental health for now; i had killed five humans and had half of my identity ripped away and contained.
I nodded.

"I dunno. The spirits can be very picky. It's not worth the risk. If they don't accept you, the Disturbia will be forced to destroy you for sure."

I looked away. "Then maybe i should be destroyed."
Suddenly i felt a slap across my face. I looked back and saw Darren fuming.
"Wha-?"
"How can you say that, after all the good you've done! Don't you even remember that day?!"
I did remember that day. It was when i first found out my element, and that i had an affinity for storms. I had gotten in a fight with one of the other younglings, because they said i wasn't a dragon. Way back when i didn't know him as well.

"What are we going to do with you, Drey?" Darren sighed.
I turned my head away. "Maybe i shouldn't even exist," i grumbled.
He snorted in annoyance. "Dreyden. You are one of the best younglings i've ever had the chance to meet. It would be a sin if you neve existed."
"How can you say that?" I exclaimed. "Is it not dragon sin that i was even born? Dragons are not meant to mate with humans!" I looked away angrilly. "And I'm not anywhere near the best! I'm clumsly, i can barely hold my dragon form, and all these emotions just keep welling up inside of me until i feel i might burst!"

I had said basically the same then as i did now. The only difference is back then was before i turned evil.

I saw the memories flash through his head. I walked over to him. "Look, there are times when I think I shouldn't exist either. But we're here for a reason, and it's definatley not to commit suicide!" I sighed. "Look, Drey, I know how you feel, but it's not your time, not yet."

I laughed. "I'm not comitting suicide. Relax, i know. But if what happens happens, then it's meant to be. I don't want to put Kira at anymore risk than she is, and the only other person who has spiritual connections just happens to be missing." I paused, suddenly thinking something. "Of course, now that i'm thinking straight, it would be no use going to the spirit realm to the Disturbia, anyways; this isn't the same as your inner demon."

I had to laugh at that one. "Buddy, he's delt with worse demons than yours. However, since yours is a bit more wild than mine, it'll take a bit longer to get under control."

I smiled sadly. "Yeah, except there's just one problem with that. Being here just reminded of when i was first turning into the monster you just saw. I didn't mean mine was worse; just a whole other field. Darcore, he was a mad scientist. Probably still is. But he was incredibly smart. Beyond. He told me he could remake me into the most powerful being, give me the gift to surpass all my rival and win every challenge. While that was basically true, he never really said anything about the experiments."
I placed my hand on my chest. "I was actually a failure, though a sucessful failure, if that makes any sense. I remember overhearing three nights later his henchmen reporting my progres. They said that while i had survived the transformation, i was beyond their control. Darcore even tried to contain me, and only managed small control. He deemed me unstable, and thus failure." I sighed. "Aside from Kira, i don't think there is any way for that side of me to be tamed.

"Perfect." I crossed my arms and looked up. "So much for that idea."

"Hey, don't feel so down about it though. So long as I don't let Kragis near me again and i keep my memories in check, i'll be okay."
Suddenly Falcon's mind screamed inside of my head.
You're still here?! Get the Hell out of there now!
I jumped from startlement. He sounded panicky.
What's happening? What's wrong?
No time! Just get out of there quick! That time is was Kragis. Suddenly i was scared. again.

"You heard the dragons, let's move!" I started shoving Drey out again.

We ran out. back into the musty city air where the streets and buildings were abandoned. Not long after Falcon, Cloud, and Kragis came bolting out, Kragis running where a shadow was cast. Behind them i could feel a tremor in the air. Cloud turned around and threw a magic barrier over the entrance. Whatever was coming out was stopped.
Falcon roared at Kragis. "You stupid idiot!"
Kragis roared back. "It's not my fault! How was i supposed to know there was a booby trap?!"

I sighed and shook my head. "Come on guys, knock it off. Not everyone can see traps, ya know."

I sighed. "What now? The underground is blocked, i'm stuck as a human for a while, and Kragis and Falcon are yelling at eachother."
Suddenly Kragis noticed me. "Hey, you're normal."
"No duh, dip-wad."
He grinned. "And your not cursing. I have to say, i like the other one better."
I shook my head.

"Oh shut up, idiot." I scratched the back of my neck, and tried to ignore the stinging of the scar that went across my left eye.

OOC: i'm gonna ccall it a night, even though it's morning.

Darren and Laia recovered themselves. He greeted the Shadow with a glare.
"Hello, Kragis."
Kragis, of course, grinned. "Hey, Mr. Knight-Hero! How long has it been?"
"I think the last time we met we were trying to kill eachother."
"Yeah, you were taking Storm away."

"Do I really want to know?" "Probably not." "Disturbia?!" I saw him, in his human form (I'll find it later) standing in front of me. We hugged, since we were pretty good friends now. "Please, idiot, my name is really..." "Surrokumon, I know. I'm just so glad to see you!" "Well, I finally got a break from my job, hehe. Too many times are coming to an end, unfortunatley."
