The Shadow Maker

The rest of us gave a start of surprise. I smiled. "Long time no see." Kragis stared at the newcomer curiously.

Surrokumon looked at Drey and smiled. "I see you're still alive. By the way, Seth, when did you become the Shapeshifter of Wisdom?" I had to laugh at that one. "You heard what I was saying to Drey, didn't you?" He nodded.

"Whose the strange person that appeared out of nowhere?" Kragis asked to no one in particular. He was probably thinking the new person was like himself.

Surrokumon looked to Kragis. "I'm the Disturbia, the Spirit of Destruction, or I used to be. Here, you can call me Surrokumon."

"Interesting..." i didn't like that grin on his face.
He moved out of the shade, going a little transparent in the sunlight, next to me. "I'm Kragis Monroras. I used to be this guy's partner in crime." He placed an arm around my shoulders.
"Don't touch me!" i snarled and jumped away. "Don't ever come near me!" I was NOT about to let him activate it again.
Kragis gave a look of mock-hurt, but then began to laugh. "Wow, Storm, i don't think i've ever seen you that nervous."
He was right; i was heaving. But that was just the side effects from the injection.

Surrokumon just shook his head. I tried not to laugh.

"It's not funny," i grumbled at them, then heaved a sigh. "What do we do now? The underground is blocked and we don't really-" My chest gave a lurched of pain and i fell to my knees. Darren gave a start. So did Kragis.

Surrokumon grunted. "What now?" I glared at him. "Stop being so sore." I walked over to Drey. "What's wrong? Is there someone else coming or somethin'?"

For a moment i couldn't respond. It was like i was seeing through the eyes of someone else, somewhere completely different with snow and wind and a dark cave. Then i was back on the ground in front of everbody.
"W-what on earth is going on?" i whispered quietly. That's never happened before, but that wasn't what was strange. I recognized that place. The Spiral Mountains.

"You tell me. I have no clue what just happened unless you tell me..." I looked at the others. "Us."

"Drey, what happened?" Darren asked.
"I-I don't know. I don't know what it was, but...I saw the Spiral Mountains." I looked at him carefully. "Do you think...?"
Falcon finished. "We found our lead?"

Surrokumon rasied an eye. "Lead? To what?" Oh, right, we never told you about Darcore..." "Darcore!? That devil's still alive?!"

Now it was my turn to give a start. "You know him?"

Surrokumon nodded. "Yes, unfortunatley I do. I left him though, way before you joined him." He gave a snort of disgust. "I can't believe this. I thought he was put down for good." I just stared at him.

I stared at him, completely dumbfounded. "You mean you were the one...?" No way. That's way too crazy. The legend before me...?

He smiled. "Yes Drey, I am." Surrokumon looked at Dreyden. "I'm the legend before you." I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. "No freakin' way..."

"Too wierd..." I shuddered involuntarily.
Now everyone was eying Surrokumon, except Kragis had a different expression.
"I knew i recognized your pressence!" he exclaimed almost happily. "You have the faint scent of Darcore on you. Almost the same level of darkness."

Surrokumon turned to Kragis and growled fiercly, "I thought I knew you from somewhere! I still haven't gotten my revenge on you..." I took a few steps back. "Now, now Surroku. You know what happens when you lose your temper for no reason..." "Fine." He backed up one step, but still eyed Kragis with hate.

Kragis backed away a little bit, claws up. "Whoa, whoa, i think you got me confused with someone else. Us Shadows all look alike, anyways. Easy mistake to make. But, anyways, you wouldn't hurt a friend of Storm's, would you?"
"Hey, 'buddy', don't come to me for protection," i growled, then went back to what Surrokumon had said earlier. "I thought he was gone, too. I was so sure i had killed him, i had his blood on my claws to prove it, but..."

"We all thought the same way. When I was facing Seth once, I thought I'd killed him, too." "I heard that." "I was sent to destroy him. Anyhow, do you know how he survived?"

"Slowed heartbeat?" i guessed. Wasn't i there that day...?

Surrokumon shook his head. "Only us Shapeshifters can survive having a slow heartbeat." I put a hand to my chest. Yep, he was right. My heartbeat was still very slow. Go figure.

"Alright, i give: how did he survive?"

Surrokumon looked at me. "What?" He looked back to Drey. "You-know-who brought him back." I gasped in surprise. "No, you don't mean...?" "Yes, Seth, I do mean." "Oh, just great..."

I remained puzzled. "You don't mean Cyrus?"
