Resuyo stepped forward, shaking. "Sadiir... he-we snuck into the lab, and he wanted to see what the stuff was, and..." He cut off, not wanting to say anymore.

Drey didn't hear them, his mind completely on Drake.
"Rikko, the antidote...?"
He shook his head. "That was only to surpress it, Drey, not stop it. Darren hasn't made a cure yet; If we give that to him now, it could kill him."
Drey looked down at Drake again. He gasped again. What do I do...what do I do?!
He clenched his fist. "KRAGIS!"
Kragis rose immediately from Drey's shadow. "Here bo- whoa!" He jumped back in surprise. "Drey, what's going on? That pressence is...!"
Drey looked up at him desperately. "Kragis, help me, please!"
Kragis was completely taken aback, and actually looked at the boy. He was frozen for a moment; it was just like...!
"Wha-what....I...I don't...!"
"Please, Kragis, he's my son! I won't let him go through the same thing I did! There has to be something you can do!"
Kragis stared at him in shock; he had never seen him like this, not even when...
"...I see what I can do," he said, and went into shadow mode. He placed his hands on Drake's shoulders, and seeped in his powers. Drake shuddered again and thrashed in pain.

"What's he doing?" Sephen asked Rikko.

Rikko shook his head. "I'm not sure. This is still new material for me."
Rengei stepped towards Drey in astonishment. "Wait, you said...he said, 'what I went through...' does that mean...?!" He looked to Rikko, who nodded gravely.
Sadiir felt even more guilty. "I didn't know...!"
Kragis pulled out of Shadow mode, releasing Drake. Drey looked at him anxiously. "Well?"
He shook his head incrediously. "He's in the third-day stage. how the heck did you not sense it sooner?!"
Rikko answered for him. "It must have been the heavily diluted vials," he said, and then interupting Kragis's, "You actually kept those things?!?!" said, "We've been using it for study, trying to create a cure. But...we haven't come up with anything certain."
Drey just remained frozen. "So then...?"
Kragis shook his head. "There's nothing we can do at this point but let it play out. His body with either accept it or reject it."
It was like watching a huge weight just crumbled right on top of him. He stared at Drake, who was still spazing in pain. "This wasn't suppose to happen...this wasn't ever suppose to happen...!"
Drake's voice was crack. "Dad...?"
Drey snapped out of it. "Drake, hang in there, you're going to okay..."
Tears filled his eyes. "It hurts...Dad, I'm scared...!"
"I know, I know, it's going to be okay, you're going to be okay..." It was a lie, and they both knew it. He was either going to die, or turn into a monster. Drey wasn't sure which to hope for; both outcomes were not good.
But at this point it didn't matter, because the final stretch was begining.
"His eyes..." Kragis said in awe; he had never actually been there to see a Fury born. The edges of Drake's eyes were darkening, growing thicker until they were ink-black. His hands were slowly transitioning to claws, and he teeth started to become sharper.
"Everyone get back," Drey said, taking a few steps back. Everyone obeyed, leaving a wide radius around Drake as he back to thrash more painfully, clawing at his chest and crying out.
Drey stared in horror as he watched his own son becoming a Fury.
The final transformation sent a wave of dark, unnatural energy that knocked everyone back, including Drey. He recovered, staring into the center of erruption.
Drake snarled with animal furocity, glaring at everyone with blood-red, hungry eyes. Then he lunged for Resuyo.

Sephen instantly knocked Resuyo out of the way, nearly getting clawed by Drake.

Drake over-shot and started to slide as he tried to turn around. Everyone got ready to fight, but were all scared; this was for real. No practices, no holding back, no tamed-ness. This was for real. They could actually die.
Drake finally stopped and hissed angrily, lunging again at break-neck speed for Sephen this time, grazing him with a claw just before a senior DragonKnight mangaged to knock him away. The rest of the older Knights were just coming back from a mission and already creating a circle around Drake. "Everyone, get away now."
They needed no second order.Everyone back away, including Sadiir.
Drey circled in front of him, calling. "Drake? Drake, fight it back, come on son, you can do it. Fight it back, don't do this..."
Drake snarled as an only reaction to his voice.
Sadiir stared at Drake with horror. Oh god, I did that to him, that was my fault...
as if hearing him, Drake's eyes snapped onto him, and he froze on the spot full of fear. With a roar, Drake lunged for the third time.
All the Knights reacted, using practiced manuevers to take him down. But Drake knew exactly what to do; they were moves he had been trained to use, and even in this state remembered them. He dodged through all of their defense, slicing them as he went and biting where he could pause, and was hell-bent on Sadiir. He was through in seconds, and leaped into the air to deliver a final strike on the blond, trembling dragon.
This is it... he thought. And I deserve it. He closed his eyes and waited for it to happen.
"Drake, NO!"
There was another burst of dark energy and then suddenly Drey tackled Drake in mid-air, in his own Fury form. They rolled across the floor for a moment and then Drey had him in a hold, his legs pinning Drake's to the floor and his arms circle underneath Drake's and holding his head. They both were the spitting image of eachother, and could only be desguished by size.
"Drake, stop! Fight it back!" Drey cried.
Drake snarled again, thrashing, and, braking his head loose, bit Drey in the arm.
Drey cried out momentarily in pain, but used his other hand to pull out a silver dagger and plunge it into Drake's chest.
He froze immediately, his eyes going wide in shock. Drey pulled his arm away from his mouth and held him.
"Rikko!"
Rikko responded immediately, bringing the shot that had been so often used on Drey.
"In his neck, here," Drey said, showing him where.
Drake shuddered from the shot, and twitched a little bit, moaning in pain. Rikko withdrew the dagger as he began turning back to normal.

"Sephen!" Resuyo yelled with worry. The red-haired dragon went over to his silver brother, who just wiped the blood off his face and smiled.
"I'm okay, bro."

Drake remained limp once he was back to normal, his eyes glaced over like an empty shell. Drey transformed back immediately and sat him up, facing him.
"Drake? C'mon Drake, come back to us. Don't be like I was, please don't be like I was...!"
"He wasn't in Fury state for very long," Rikko said hopefully. "So recovery shouldn't..."
Drey only nodded, and swallowed. "C'mon buddy, wake up, wake up...you can do it, I know you can..."
Still no respond from Drake. Drey was getting desperate.
Venge stood up from where he had fallen, watching fearfully. "Drake..." Sadiir stared with guilt and regret, shocked. Rengei was transfixed at just the sight of Drey's panic. Kragis could only stare in shared pain.

Resuyo looked at Sadiir with the "I told you this was a bad idea" look, and Sephen could only look at Drake with worry.

Drey shook Drake's shoulders carefully. "C'mon, Drake, wake up! Please! Don't do this to me, dammit!"
"Drey..."
"Come on, wait up, Drake!"
His finger twitched, making everyone freeze in anticipation. Drey looked crazed but hopeful.
"That's it, come back, come on. Fight it, Drake, fight it..."
Slowly the glaze over his eyes cleared; the light returned to them. He blinked and look up.
"...Dad...?"
Tears sprung into his eyes and he took his son in an embrace. "Oh Drake, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry..."
Rikko sighed in relief. "Thank goodness." It was just like that time... he said to himself. Just like when he came back. Only now he was on the other end of it...
He leaned down and placed a hand on Drey's shoulder. "Let's not put him back into another coma; he needs immediate attention."
Drey nodded and let Rikko take him away, standing up. His breathing only just started to calm down. Then suddenly, as if hit with a conviction, he had a new look in his eyes.
"Zander." Zander jumped.
"Yessir?"
"Get the communications up."
He nodded, and Drey followed him towards the big machine (repaired after Drey smashed the screen in the Shadow Maker ) and got it running.
"Where to?"
Drey stared straight at the the screen. "Get me the King."
Soon after, Adriane's face appeared on screen.
"Hey! I was wondering when you were going to call in! I thought you might've forgotten about me-"
"You majesty?" Drey formally asked.
He paused in midsentance. "Alright, what's up?" he said, serious.
"Requesting a pass into the elven lands."
"The elven la-? Drey, what's this about?"
His silence was answer enough. Adriane nodded.
"Alright. I'll meet you on the border."
Drey gave a start. "Wha-?"
"I have to head over there anyway. You can provide my escort."
"Adriane..." Drey said in gratitude, and returned to formal. "Yessir. Over and out."
Zander watched Drey with concern. "Sir...?" he questioned, meaning, what is this about?
"I won't let Drake have to deal with the same thing I did. He didn't want this, nor did he choose it. I'm going to the elves to ask for their help in finding a cure for the Fury."

OOC: I'm feeling sorry for Soul already.

Sephen looked at Drey. "May we come?"

He nodded, and smiled a little, even though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Of course. You need to be the escort."
Sadiir stepped forward, scared. "S-sir?"
Drey turned his attention to him.
"I'm...I'm sorry, I-I-i didnt-!"
Drey held up his hand, interrupting him. "I'm not going to get mad at you, Sadiir. Nor am I going to punish you," he added as Sadiir stared at him incrediously. This time Drey smiled sadly, the anguish reaching his eyes. "I can see you've already been punished enough."
Sadiir lowered his head. "I...I think I should stay behind, sir."
"Then you have permission to remain here."

Resuyo looked at Sephen, who nodded. His brother then stood next to Sadiir and asked, "I know I didn't actually do it, but I still feel guilty myself. May I stay here as well?"

Drey nodded to him as well. Help him recover and get past his guilt.
After that, Drey ordered all the trainees to take the day off. Then, he went to go check on Drake.
It was later in the night before Drey emmerged with Rikko, while everyon was asleep.
"He's actually doing much better than you had," Rikko said encouragingly. "Drake will be fine, even if a cure still isn't possible. And he has a fine father to teach him how to control it."
"Yeah..." Drey murmured. "But still...I never wanted this to happen to him. To any of them. I was so afraid when i found out Kira was pregnant that it would pass on to them..." He covered his face with his hand and leaned against the wall. "Oh god, how am I going to tell Kira...?"
"Tell me what?"
They both looked up to see Kira standing at the entrance, confused and concerned. She gave a start when she saw Drey's face.
"Oh, no, Drey, what happened?!" she rushed over to him and hugged him comfortingly. "What's wrong?!"
"It's Drake...he..." Drey hugged her tightly. Rikko explained to her the situation.
She covered her mouth. "Oh my...oh no..."
"Kira, I'm so sorry, I should have...I..."
She took his head and burried it in her should. "Stop, Drey. It's okay, there was nothing you could have done..."
"I'm going to fine a cure for this. I swear, I will fix this..."
She nodded her head. "How...how is he?"
"He's doing fine now. I'm taking him to see the elves tomorrow."
"I wish I could come and be with both of you. I still have training at the Academy, but..."
He kissed her forehead. "It's alright. I can be there for both of us."
Kira smiled, and, after telling Drey he should get some sleep, went in to see Drake.

The next day they were off to the elven lands. Drey carried Drake in his claws, since he wouldn't be able to transform for a while. They met Adriane at the boder and, after the shock and explaination, stepped into a whole other world.
Drake looked around below him, still feeling the effects of the Fury within him, in awe. He had never been to this side of Istel; it was surreal, and that was saying something, being half dragon. The trees and grass were a whole different color, and the whole place was alive with a completely different kind of aura.

Sephen flew close to Drey, looking at the new sights and sounds all around him. He never thought he'd ever come here. If only Resuyo had been there...

Drake glanced at the others, remembering that his two "attackers" decided to stay behind. They had appologized to him constantly until they had left.
Um, Dad...? Is... he swallowed. Was anyone...?
He saw him flinched, but more from a deja vu feeling. No, everyone was fine, they came out more unscathed then when they fought me. He smiled, trying to make light of it, but it seemed to just make Drake feel more miserable and helpless...and scared.
Drey saw it. I promise Drake. They only one you really got was me, and it was just a little teething bite. That sort of thing.
Drake just remained silent.
Adriane got their attention. "We need to land and transition to human form; even though we're on very friendly terms, we don't want the elves to think we're performing some hostile invasion."
Drey nodded and lead the way into a dive, transforming and landing carrying Drake cradle-style without a bump of discomfort to him.

Sephen follwed and turned human as he landed, then looked at Drey. "Is this it?"

"No, but we're close. The elven village is just ahead. Can you walk yet?" he added to Drake.
"I think so...let me try..." Drey let his legs down, carefully supporting him. Drake took a few steps, and nodded. "yeah, I'll be fine."
They began walking ahead. About thirty minutes later, they were suddenly surround by forty bows and spears. Both Drey and Adriane held up their hands.
"We mean no harm, but come in peace," Adriane assured.
"If that is so, then why does that one smell of the Dark Ones?" one of the elves hissed, gesturing his arrow at Drey. Drey flinched, knowing who they were talking about.
"I am King Adriane, Lord of the Dragons. This is my brother, Dreyden Istalri," he explained.
The elves eyes lit up. "The Half-Prince?" And then suddenly he was shoved aside by another, who looked to be the one in charge.
"You fool, do you realize you are in the presence of a King?" the elf hissed at him. "Lower your weapons, all of you! These fellows are to be trusted."
Drey lit up in recognition. "Valdayne!"

Sephen looked back and forth between Drey and Valdayne, then looked at Drake and shrugged.

The tall elf smiled at him. "Hello, Dreyden. Never thought I'd see you again, especially here."
"My reasons for that have changed." He gestured to Drake, who was still in shock from his transformation and extremely scared. Valdayne looked at the boy in surprise, his hackles raised. "Is he your kin?" Drey nodded. He pondered that for one second, then snapped to attention. "Come with me please. My Lord Adriane, forgive me for ignoring you. We shall have you escorted immediately to the dromir; Our King is expecting you."
Adriane nodded. "These young ones are apart of my current escourt and I would like them to accompany me as well."
"But of course. Master Dreyden will be escorted to our natures department; someone he should me is waiting there."

Sephen walked over next to Adriane, and hoped that a cure for this would be found soon.
